Just as the burden to reach the lost comes from God, so do the resources required. As missionaries, our dependence is on God alone to supply our need. But we are honored, as God leads you, to partner together in this greatly needed ministry. Here are some frequently asked questions about giving to our work in Japan:

TO WHOM DO I GIVE?

Your contributions should be made payable to TEAM (The Evangelical Alliance Mission). Noted on your gift should be our name and TEAM account number [Hengevelds/Japan - #010748]. All gifts to TEAM are tax-deductible. 

HOW DO I GIVE? 

• 1. By mail. When you mail in your check (address below), TEAM will send you a receipt and convenience envelope for future giving. 
• 2. Electronic Funds Transfer. This is an automatic debit from your bank account. Forms for setting this up can be found on TEAM’s website, or we can provide them for you. 
• 3. Online Banking. Most online banking has an option for recurring automatic payments. These are set up by you under the bill paying section of your online banking account. Your gift should be sent to TEAM with a notation of our account number. 
• 4. TEAM website. Go to www.team.org/givenow. Search “Hengeveld” and donate securely online via credit card. You will be given the option to contribute a monthly, quarterly, annually or one-time gift. If you choose the monthly option, TEAM will automatically charge that card each month until you call and cancel.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GIVE? 

You may give a single, once-yearly, or monthly gift. Any gift that allows us to reach the Japanese people is appreciated and needed. However, regular monthly giving allows TEAM to see that we have met the required support level for ministry in Japan. If our support level (average monthly) drops below a certain level, TEAM will require us to return from the field for further support raising.

Should I let you know I want to support your ministry? Sure. Not only will this encourage us, but it allows us to encourage and thank you. And we will know to watch for your gift and let you know we received it. Note also that it is helpful for you to let us know if you plan to give one-time or monthly. 

What if I can no longer support your ministry? No problem. We know that you love and care for us and for Japan, or you would not have given in the first place. And we know that, ultimately, we are God’s responsibility, not yours! If you need to stop giving for any reason, don’t feel bad... just let us know!
